Maximizing the opportunities that define Northwestern

The generosity of parents and families supports virtually every aspect of the undergraduate experience. Northwestern parents may choose to direct gifts to the Parents’ Fund, which provides resources that are allocated at the discretion of University President Morton Schapiro, to their child’s undergraduate school, or to other annual funds within the University.

Because the student experience matters

Much of the University’s budget is designated for priorities like lifesaving research and financial aid. The resources provided by parents give President Schapiro flexibility to immediately fund new initiatives that enhance Northwestern’s world-class educational experience, inside and outside the classroom, such as:

  • Bringing celebrated speakers to campus
  • Red Watch Band, a peer training program to prevent alcohol abuse
  • Grants for activities that bring students and faculty together outside the classroom setting, like performances, field trips, and ethnic meals for language classes

Northwestern parents are our partners in preparing students for life as global leaders.
