Where art is the springboard for inquiring minds
Dynamic. Engaging. Thought-provoking. Reflective. More than ever before, the Block Museum of Art is enriching the creative and intellectual life of Northwestern. We connect art experiences to teaching and learning across many fields, bring the campus together, and share the extraordinary cultural resources of the University with the Chicagoland community. Our exhibitions and programs provide opportunities to meet artists, explore the relationship between art and society, celebrate student creativity, or catch an internationally acclaimed film. Through internships, fellowships, and a student docent program, the Block mentors the next generation of artists, museum professionals, and scholars.
When you support the Block at any level, you nourish the collaborative spirit, creative vitality, and community that a world-class museum brings to a major research university.
Gifts to the Block help us reach a new level of engagement and inspiration by investing in these priorities:
- Increasing engagement through hands-on programs that expose students, faculty, staff, and the wider community to new concepts and differing points of view
- Bringing students up close to art like no other institution does — as artists, curators, critics, and scholars
- Hosting compelling exhibitions that draw on the University’s collections and expertise and that explore interdisciplinary connections
- Building an outstanding collection, enhancing Northwestern’s reputation in the Chicago, national, and international arts communities
Gifts to the Block Museum Annual Fund provide resources to seed new initiatives, meet pressing needs, and sustain our outstanding visitor and student experience.
Supporters who make leadership gifts of $1,000 or more annually to the Block are recognized with membership in the Block Leadership Circle.
