Student Support

Student Emergency and Essential Needs (SEEN) Fund
SEEN addresses immediate needs of students, including emergency travel, technology, medical, and other unforeseen expenses, which are especially vital to the safety and well-being of our students during the pandemic.

University Scholarships
As a result of the devastating economic impact of the coronavirus, students in the coming years will demonstrate higher levels of financial need.

University Library Annual Fund
The University Libraries have been and will continue to be on the forefront of making research resources digitally available.

Athletics COVID-19 Assistance Fund
This fund supports the unexpected costs of scholarships, nutrition, travel, and other expenses for student-athletes experiencing financial challenges due to COVID-19.

Kellogg Annual Fund
The annual fund provides Kellogg with the critical resources needed to continue delivering top thought leadership to the Kellogg community.

STAR Gift Fund
Northwestern Pritzker School of Law’s STAR Fund provides emergency grants for students experiencing unexpected financial hardships.


Faculty Research

COVID-19 Research Fund
To maximize our research impact and minimize intrusions on critical healthcare pathways, the Feinberg School of Medicine has created a COVID-19 Task Force to coordinate and catalogue all COVID-19-related research being performed by Feinberg faculty and staff. This fund will support projects deemed high priority by the COVID-19 Task Force.

University COVID-19 Research Accelerator Fund
This fund is enabling our world-renowned faculty to advance new, cutting-edge research projects related to the COVID-19 crisis, such as medicine and treatments, personal protective equipment supply shortages, and community outreach. Funding fills gaps left by conventional, federal sources. Please make your gift using the Other designation.

Feinberg NUCATs Unrestricted Gifts 
The NUCATS Center for Clinical Research is seeking support to assist clinical, translational, and population health investigators at an early stage in their planning, and before submission of a protocol to the Northwestern Institutional Review Board.

Infectious Diseases Research and Education
The Division of Infectious Diseases is establishing an emerging and reemerging pathogens program to research COVID-19 and future unknown viruses.

Institute for Global Health (GHI)
GHI catalyzer grants provide crucial immediate-use funds for COVID-19 research led by medical school faculty who are collecting preliminary data to support a future grant submission and/or who need supplemental support for ongoing sponsored research for work outside the aims or scope of a funded project.

Pulmonary Research
Research support is a high priority for faculty physicians in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care. As more people are surviving COVID-19, the priority will be to study the long-term effects of those who were once critically ill. 


Community Connections 

The Public Health Fund
The Institute for Public Health and Medicine’s Center for Community Health, Community Response, and Recovery Fund is providing financial support to community-based organizations that provide services and resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Center for Talent Development Scholarships
The Center for Talent Development (CTD) has opened its global, online community—CTD Backpack—to all families, regardless of whether they normally participate in programs. Participants can engage with other parents and experts in gifted education, access weekly content tailored to the needs of parents of gifted students, and learn about the latest opportunities provided by CTD.
